Our History:

Pi Iota Chi Christian Multicultural Sorority, Inc. Alpha Chapter was founded at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor campus on February 9th of the year 2001 by Brandi Nicole Van Horn and Blair Noel Glover. Both ladies received the same vision from the Lord to form this organization. They are both 2003 alumni from the University of Michigan and servants of the Lord. They formed this organization to focus on the strengthening of one's relationship with God, academic excellence, sisterhood, community service, and fellowship, all in the name of the Lord. The founding members of this organization that worked along with these founders to bring forth the vision were Leah "Princess" Harris and LaJuana "Wanie" Mitchell.

Pi Iota Chi Pledge:

I ________________________will strive to achieve and live by the following as all these things are part of the word of our living God. I will strive...

1.) To be a true friend in Christ that encourages, prays for, and supports my fellow sisters and brothers in Christ.

2.) To fellowship amongst other saints of God. Knowing the light is made to be a separate entity from darkness. I am a light; I will fellowship with others of The Light who is Jesus Christ.

3.) To be one with my fellow members. For I know we represent one body and it consists of many members and we are of all equal importance. When one part of the body is afflicted it affects the whole body. So we must work together that we maintain a healthy and effective body.

4.) To be one that gives over receiving. To convey the love of Christ by using my gifts to assist those that are in need and less fortunate than myself.

5.) To remember the Sabbath Day by going to church on a constant and consistent basis and worshiping with my Christian brothers and sisters in Christ.

6.) To be faithful to God in tithes and offerings. For the 10 percent is His and He is worthy of it. For He has blessed me with the other 90 percent.

7.) To strive to refrain from all sexual pleasures and activities before marriage. For I know that my body is not my own but was bought with a price through the death of Jesus Christ. My body was made for the glory and edification of God.

8.) To use my mouth as a vessel of Christ, therefore exterminating all words which are not clean in the eye of Christ. To examine what I view and listen to making sure that it is not of anything that is contrary to His will and His way based on the Word of God.

9.) To prosper in my academics. To maintain my academics through discipline and determination. Discipline to study and determination to press on when studying does not SEEM to pay off. To continue to acknowledge that my main purpose at this point in life is academics and that I will financially prosper and reach the next level once I accept God's will for my life.

10.) To pray; for it is the ultimate communication that I can have with God. To learn not to be a selfish prayer and to pray for God's will and not my own. To follow Jesus' example of prayer: to pray for others and most importantly pray without ceasing.

11.) To love my neighbor as God has loved me. To love my enemies as well as my friends. To live a life of love thus when others view me, they will give glory to my Father who is the ultimate example of what love should be.

12.) To operate in the spirit and not in the flesh. To live by the Word of God and constantly have the mindset of Christ. I will strive on a daily basis to live more like Christ.
